While the extensive Dragon Empires Gazetteer unveils dozens of the mystical continent’s secrets, the Dragon Empires Primer provides information pertinent to creating characters for campaigns set in this vast and diverse region. From the treacherous jungles of naga-ruled Nagajor to the sorcerous kingdom of Dtang Ma, and from the trackless and unforgiving deserts of Shaguang to the wondrous city of Goka, countless opportunities can be found for any character or adventure in amazingly expansive Tian Xia. When you run out of spells or want to save them, remember you can use cantrips like ray of frost or acid splash to get an extra attack(with a little added damage) every full-attack when you can use spellcombat+spellstrike. The distant continent of Tian Xia rests on the opposite side of the world from the Inner Sea region, and it shows. The half-orc is actually a good choice, because they can use orc hornbows( 2d6 damage longbows, you can make them compound too) without having to spend a feat on it.įor traits a good choice are the metamagic reducing traits magical lineage/wayang spellhunter, that will reduce the spell level increase when applying metamagic feats to a spell ( a good spell to choose with these is snowball), or basic traits like reactionary (+2 init), or fate's favored, that works nicely with sacred tattoo (an alternative racial choice for half-orcs) to improve your saves by +2.įor feats you need the standard archer feats to start: 1st level point blank shot, 3rd level precise shot, at 5th rapid shot would be a good choice, but there are also other feats you can take, combat feats like deadly aim or weapon focus, or metamagic feats like rime spells/ intensified spells/empowered spells ( if you want to focus on snowball using the trait/s for it ).Īt third level as your first arcana i would advise you to take arcane accuracy, as with spell combat and rapid shot you would take a -4 to hit and that will help you greatly to hit more reliably. If you can use a 15 point buy i would suggest: 14 str, 14+2 dex, 12 con, 14 int, 10 wis, 8 cha, or if you don't want a malus on cha make str 12 and cha 10 (12 str and 17 dex is also a good choice).
